Perguntas frequentes

Will the Word document look like the PDF?

Text, basic formatting, and page layout are reconstructed into a .docx that stays close to the original for simple documents. Multi-column layouts, text placed over graphics, embedded forms, and unusual fonts may shift, so open the result and tidy it in Word or Google Docs.

Why is my converted Word file empty?

The PDF is a scan with no text layer, so there's nothing for the converter to reconstruct and you get blank pages or a few stray characters. Run the file through OCR PDF first to add a text layer, then convert the OCR'd PDF.

Can I edit the text after converting?

The output is a normal .docx with real paragraphs, not an image of the page, so you can edit, restyle, and copy from it in Word, LibreOffice Writer, or Google Docs.

Does it handle CMYK or print-ready PDFs?

Before conversion the PDF is passed through Ghostscript to convert it to RGB, which avoids the image errors that CMYK print files otherwise cause in the converter. If that step fails, the original file is used as is.

Can I convert many PDFs at once?

Add as many files as you want; they're converted one after another and downloaded as converted-documents.zip with one .docx per PDF. A single file downloads directly under its own name with a .docx extension.

What about password-protected PDFs?

You're prompted for the password when conversion starts, and the decrypted copy is converted. The resulting .docx isn't password protected.

Do I need Microsoft Word installed to convert PDF to Word?

No. The conversion is done by PyMuPDF and pdf2docx running in your browser, and the .docx it produces opens in Word, LibreOffice Writer, Pages, and Google Docs. To go the other way, use Word to PDF.

Is the PDF uploaded to convert it to Word?

No. The whole pipeline, from reading the PDF to writing the .docx, runs in WebAssembly inside your browser, so contracts and reports stay on your device.
