BentoPDF started off as just a simple internal tool I used for quickly merging and splitting PDFs.
At some point, I decided to share it on Reddit. Someone in the comments asked if it was open source. I thought, “Why not?” So a couple of weeks later, I put the code on GitHub.
I posted it on r/selfhosted the next day, and that's when things really started to take off.
I honestly never thought BentoPDF would grow into what it is today. It started as a little tool I made for myself, and somehow it turned into a much bigger project used by people all over the world.
