Remove Blank Pages

Scan your PDF for blank or near-blank pages and remove them automatically. The tool renders each page and analyzes its pixel content to determine whether it is blank, then lets you confirm which pages to remove before processing.

How It Works

  1. Upload your PDF file.
  2. Adjust the Sensitivity slider to control how strictly "blank" is defined.
  3. Click Detect Blank Pages to scan the document.
  4. The tool shows thumbnails of detected blank pages so you can review them.
  5. Confirm the selection and download the cleaned PDF with blank pages removed.

Options

  • Sensitivity -- A slider from 0% to 100% (default 80%). Higher values are stricter, only flagging pages that are completely or nearly white. Lower values are more permissive, catching pages with minimal content like a single dot or faint watermark.

Features

  • Pixel-level analysis of each page to detect blank content
  • Adjustable sensitivity slider for fine-tuning detection
  • Page thumbnail preview of detected blank pages for manual verification
  • Preserves all non-blank pages exactly as they are
  • Handles documents of any size or page count
  • Progress feedback during scanning

Use Cases

  • Cleaning up scanned documents where the scanner captured empty backsides of single-sided originals
  • Removing separator pages from bulk-scanned document batches
  • Stripping blank pages inserted by document management systems
  • Cleaning up PDFs exported from word processors that sometimes include trailing blank pages
  • Reducing file size by removing unnecessary empty pages

Tips

  • Start with the default sensitivity of 80% and adjust from there. If the tool misses pages that look blank to you, lower the sensitivity. If it flags pages that have light content you want to keep, raise it.
  • The tool renders each page to analyze its content, so processing time scales with page count. For very large documents, expect a short wait.
  • Review the detected blank pages in the thumbnail preview before confirming removal. Pages with faint headers, footers, or watermarks may be flagged depending on sensitivity settings.
